PURPOSE: A capacitor discharge igniter of an engine is provided to prevent the damage of the ignition plug and an accidental fire due to the change of the voltage of a battery. CONSTITUTION: The capacitor discharge igniter of an engine comprises:a battery(21); a ignition switch(23); a converter(25) to boost the battery voltage fed via the ignition switch and to supply the voltage to a rectifying and filtering part(27); a rectifying and filtering part(27); a charging and discharging part(29) to charge the voltage supplied from the rectifying and filtering part and to discharge the voltage through a first coil; an ignition signal generation part(31); an ignition coil(33); an ignition plug(35); a voltage detection part(37); and a switching control part(39).
