PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for updating software more promptly in the case of updating the software in an embedded system. SOLUTION: The embedded system uses binary-position information and includes a server 200 for receiving software-version information from a target system 202 for a comparison of a binary image associated with the software-version information with a binary image corresponding to software-version information to be downloaded and downloading data including a changed binary image and position information to be updated as data to be downloaded in a target system and the target system 202 for analyzing the data downloaded from the server 200 and updating the changed binary image by referring to the position information.
