PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propylene-ethylene random copolymer that contains relatively many different kinds of insertions and has suppressed spreading of crystalline distribution even when it has a low melting point. SOLUTION: The propylene-ethylene random copolymer is comprised of 94-84 mol% of propylene and 6-16 mol% of ethylene and has properties (a)-(d) below. (a) A weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of 100,000-500,000. (b) A melt peak temperature (Tm) of 90-115°C. (c) The difference between an elution end temperature and an elution peak temperature of at most 7°C and the amount eluted before 0°C of at most 1 wt.% of the whole in the TREF elusion curve. (d) A propylene unit chain portion having a head-to-tail linkage having an isotactic triad fraction of at least 97%, an area fraction of regioregularity based on 2.1-insertion of 0.15-1.0% and an area fraction of regioregularity based on 1.3-insertion of at least 0.05%, each measured by<SP>13</SP>C-NMR.
