PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of enhancing the photostabilization of silver in a medical material, more particularly, the method of increasing the photostabilization of silver in certain material comprising hydrophilic, amphoteric, or anionic polymer. SOLUTION: The method comprises steps of subjecting a hydrophilic, amphoteric, and anionic polymers to solutions containing an organic solvent and a sufficient amount of silver supply source, during or after which adding one or more agents which facilitate the photostabilization of the material. thereby obtaining a photostabilized antimicrobial material and medical device.
