PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a training machine for training the abdominal muscles dispensing with a complicated mechanism such as a weight type loading device and inexpensively constituted into a compact shape in the training machine for twistingly rotating the upper half body and the lower half body with a user seated on a chair and training the abdominal muscles. SOLUTION: This training machine for training the abdominal muscles consists of a support body, a seat part and armrest parts disposed on the support body, a pivot fixing the seat part or one of the armrest parts to the support body and rotatably pivoting the other, and a loading device for applying a rotating load to the pivot, wherein the loading device consists of a pinion having an output shaft to be connected with the pivot, a reciprocating rack engaged with the pinion, a pair of pistons provided integrally with the both ends of the rack, a cylinder for storing the respective pistons, a connecting means for connecting between ports of the respective cylinders, and a pressure control means for controlling the flow of pressure medium to be supplied to the respective cylinders via the ports.
