This invention provides a process for producing an organic EL element comprising a transparent support substrate, a transparent electrode, an organic layer, and a metal electrode. The production process is a process for producing an organic EL element having a corrugate structure and comprises the step of coating a curable resin on the transparent support substrate, curing the curable resin while pressing a mother die against the coating, and then removing the mother die to stack a cured resin layer, with concavoconvexes provided periodically thereon, on the transparent support substrate, and the step of stacking the transparent electrode, the organic layer, and the metal electrode on the cured resin layer so that the shape of the concavoconvexes provided on the surface of the cured resin layer is maintained to produce an organic EL element.
