<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a see-through function and provide a display device with high contrast. <P>SOLUTION: A display device having the so-called see-through function can be obtained owing to a light-emitting area having plural light-emitting elements for emitting light from at least one face of the display device, and an area having plural optical elements for controlling the transmission quantity of external light from the other face to the one face of the display device.
