A battery module 1 is provided with the following: an array body 10 including a plurality of battery cells 12 that are held by cell holders 30 and that are arrayed along a prescribed array direction D, and elastic members 16 that are disposed between adjacent battery cells 12; and a restricting member 20 that applies a restrictive load to the array body 10 in the array direction D. The cell holders 30 have protruding portions 46 that protrude in the array direction D, and the amount by which the elastic members 16 between the battery cells 12 are compressed is defined by the protruding portions 46 abutting the cell holders 30 of the adjacent battery cells 12.
