PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for a rotary electric machine which improves a mechanical strength to a centrifugal force of the rotor by mitigating stress concentration that occurs in a magnet insertion hole of a rotor core, and a rotary electric machine with the same.SOLUTION: The rotor for the rotary electric machine comprises: a rotor core 252 including a plurality of magnet insertion holes 253 for each of magnetic poles; and permanent magnets 254 that are inserted into the magnet insertion holes. Non-magnetic parts 257 are formed at both ends of the magnet insertion hole in a circumferential direction and between the neighboring magnet insertion holes within one magnetic pole, a bridge part 260 is provided for mechanically connecting a rotor core part at an outer peripheral side of the magnet insertion hole and a rotor core part at an inner peripheral side. The bridge part includes: an outer peripheral side relief part 261a which is provided not to be in contact with an outer peripheral side corner of the permanent magnet; and an inner peripheral side relief part 261b which is provided not to be in contact with an inner peripheral side of the permanent magnet. The rotor for the rotary electric machine is configured in such a manner that a width W2 between the outer peripheral side relief parts is different from a width W3 between the inner peripheral side relief parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
