PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that scans laser beams by using a scanner to form an image on a screen, the image forming apparatus efficiently using laser beams emitted from a laser light source to increase the luminance of an image to be formed.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus 10, comprising: a light source part 20 that emits laser beams L1 and L2 having amplitudes modulated; and scanning means that scans the laser beams L1 and L2 to irradiate a screen 50 with the laser beams, and thereby forming an image, where the scanning means includes two scanners 31 and 41 that reciprocatingly scan the laser beams in the horizontal direction to irradiate the screen 50 with the laser beams; the two scanners 31 and 41 are driven with a single resonance frequency, and the phases of its drive pattern are shifted from each other by a predetermined shift amount; the light source part 20 switches irradiation of the two scanners 31 and 41 with the laser beams for each of periods corresponding to the predetermined shift amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
