PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and devices for machine type communication (MTC) preregistration for enabling machine to machine (M2M) communication to include inter-entity data communication which does not necessarily include human interaction.SOLUTION: The methods provide a single preregistration or periodic preregistrations and may be machine to machine (M2M) application function (AF) or device (MTC user equipment based). The devices in the system may be divided into groups and accessed by a group Internet Protocol (IP) address. Two wake up cycles may be provided, one for control and one for uploading information (a reporting cycle).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
