PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating muddy water on a dam or the like by a space-saving simple device which is a treatment method capable naturally dewatering, and extremely simply carrying out a series of treatments such as flocculation, agitation, contact, sedimentation and dewatering of the muddy water without providing a special mechanical device when earth and sand deposited on the dam or the like are removed. SOLUTION: The treatment method for the muddy water comprises the steps of adding the muddy water with activated flock slurry and treating it by streaming this muddy water through a ditchlike chute 1 provided with a core in a ditch 2.
