BACK LIGHT UNIT HAVING PROTECTION CITCUIT USING CENTER-TAP

A backlight unit equipped with a protection circuit using a middle tap is provided to detect the abnormality of a lamp easily by obviously showing the difference between voltages of the normal and abnormal operations. A backlight unit equipped with a protection circuit using a middle tap comprises an inverter unit(110), a lamp group(130), a current balancing unit(120), a detection unit(140) and a determining unit(150). The inverter unit supplies the lamp driving power. The lamp group has a plurality of lamps which receive the lamp driving power from the inverter unit and emit the light. The current balancing unit comprises a plurality of primary coils and a plurality of secondary coils. The primary coils deliver the lamp driving power from the inverter unit to each lamp. The secondary coils consists of one end, the other end formed at an opposite side to the one end, and one conductor having the middle tap between one end and the other end.
