A transition metal-carbon nanotube hybrid catalyst having a maximized catalytic activation, a manufacturing method thereof, and a method for producing hydrogen using the same are provided to produce hydrogen from a sodium borohydride solution. A transition metal-carbon nanotube hybrid catalyst has transition metal-carbon nanparticles of uniform size spread on carbon nanotube containing nitrogen. The transition metal-carbon nanotube hybrid catalyst includes the nitrogen of nitrogen 0.01~20 at%. The transition metal-carbon nanparticles are distributed on the surface of the carbon nanotube uniformly. The transition metal is one or more selected from a group consisting of iron, cobalt, nickel, and metal compounds in which their mixture is included. A hybrid catalyst improves the speed of hydrogen generation.
