DRIVE SIGNAL GENERATING CIRCUIT

A driving signal generation circuit is provided to suppress the wrong movement of optical pick-up even in case of the damage to the recording side of an optical disc by driving a thread motor. A driving signal generation circuit comprise a tracking signal output circuit, a stop signal output circuit(42) and a switching circuit(43). Based on the error signal showing tracking failure to laser track outputted from optical pick-up, the tracking signal output circuit outputs the tracking signal for driving a motor moving the optical pick-up in the diametric direction of an optical disc. The stop signal output circuit outputs the stop signal for driving the motor to stop the movement in the diametric direction of the optical pick-up. The switching circuit outputs the tracking signal as the driving signal for the motor in case amplitude level of the output signal photoelectric-transformed with the optical pick-up is higher than the fixed level and outputs the stop signal as the driving signal in case the amplitude level of the output signal is lower than the fixed level.
