PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video decoding method, and a device for implementing the same, in consideration of an attribute of a slice segment.SOLUTION: A video decoding method includes a stage of acquiring from a bit stream first information indicating whether or not inclusion of subordinate slice segments is permissible; a stage of acquiring from the bit stream second information indicating whether or not the current maximum encoding unit is the end of a first slice segment; a stage of determining, on the basis of third information acquired from a slice segment header of the bit stream, the number of entry points of subsets contained in the slice segment; a stage of determining, by using fourth information acquired from the slice segment header of the bit stream, the positions of the entry points; and a stage of decoding, by using context variables preserved relying on the first information and the second information, a subordinate slice segment positioned next to the first slice segment in the picture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A |
