PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transmit all data transmitted from a host device to a printer. SOLUTION: In a system 40 where the host device 10, a display device 20 and the printer 30 are connected in series and which is capable of transmitting data from the host device 10 to the printer 30 through the display device 20, the display device 20 has a normal mode for analyzing an apparatus selection command specified by the host device 10 and discriminating whether data following the apparatus selection command are to be internally processed or not and whether the data are to be transmitted to the printer 30 or not in accordance with the analytical result and a through mode for transmitting all commands and data which are transmitted from the host device 10 to the printer 30 without analyzing these commands and data.
