PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of intermingling images of kinds which are rewritable by respective different signals and displaying the same on one display surface, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The first image 7 displayed by first microcapsules 16 is rewritten by an electrical signal and the second image 8 displayed by second microcapsules 19 are rewritten by a magnetic signal. Since the first microcapsules 16 and the second microcapsules 19 are mixed, the first image 7 which is displayed by the first microcapsules 16 and can be rewritten by the electrical signal and the second image 8 which is displayed by the second microcapsules 19 and can be rewritten by the magnetic signal can be intermingled and displayed on the display surface 4.
