PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tray detergent composition for impression tray, which has more excellent removing effect on alginate impression material than a conventional detergent for impression tray, keeps a cleaning effect even in repeated use and hardly causes corrosion of metal impression tray. SOLUTION: The detergent composition for impression tray comprises 1-60 wt.% of one or more kinds of compounds selected from an aminocarboxylic acid-based chelating agent, a polyphosphoric acid-based chelating agent, a hydroxycarboxylic acid and a hydroxycarboxylate each forming a chelate compound with a metal ion in water and water as main components and 0.1-30 wt.% of a phosphonic acid compound. The phosphonic acid compound is preferably any of phosphonic acids such as 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid, aminotriethylenephosphonic acid, phosphonic acid of N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(phosphonomethyl)ethylenediamine and its alkali metal salt.
