摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a feeling of rigidity when an occupant operates a change lever without increasing slide resistance as a first and a second lever members move relatively to each other in a speed change operation mechanism for a manual transmission. SOLUTION: This speed change operation mechanism is for a manual transmission comprising a gate member, the first lever member provided with a shaft part 31b that is capable of swinging, the second lever member engaged with the shaft part 31b on the outer side of it, and a spring to energize the second lever member upward, where the second lever member is provided with a gate block to avoid abutment with the gate member, and permit its penetration into a reverse lane when pushed down. It comprises an axial direction groove part 60 provided in an inner cylinder 32a of the second lever member, a radial hole part 61 provided in the shaft part 31b, and a ball 63 radially outwardly energized by the spring 62 in the hole part 61. The ball 63 is engaged with the axial groove part 60, so that relative rotation of the first and the second lever members to each other is prohibited while permitting relative axial move of both lever members to each other.
