The invention relates to a method and arrangements for generating sound as a warning signal or as a generator of positive emotions on the basis of mechano-acoustic transducers and operating without power supply, whereby sound patterns of an almost inexhaustible variety and permitting fine modulation adjustmen can be generated. The invention is characterized in that, during the deliberate or undeliberate actuation of a body (1) resting on a mechano-acoustic transducer (3) by an actor (2), a deformation of the body (1) or eventually a pressing of the body (1) on said mechano-acoustic transducer is produced. Said deformation or pressing generates a sound (5) with the aid of the mechano-acoustic transducer (3) or transforms said sound into acoustic sound components (5), wherein the induced psycho-acoustic excitation variables which are caused by the dominant air sound components (5) in the hearing of the actor are significantly larger and cover most of those excitation variables caused by the actor's contact (2) with the body (1). The arrangement for generating sound (5) by means of a mechano-acoustic transducer (3) is characterized in that the mechano-acoustic transducer (3) rests on a base body (4) or is connected thereto and that the mechano-acoustic transducer (3) is covered by a body (1).
