PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covered electric wire coated with a covering material excellent in electric characteristics, and heat and crack resistance. SOLUTION: A core wire of the covered electric wire is coated with a covering material made of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) based copolymer that has a tetrafluoroethylene (TFE)-based unit and a perfluoro-alkylvinylether (PAVE)-based unit, a ratio of the PAVE unit to total monomeric units being more than 5 mass% and 20 mass% or less. The number of unstable terminal groups of the copolymer is less than 10 per 1×106carbon atoms and the melting point of the copolymer is 260 °C or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
