PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer capable of improving mountability to a vehicle by shortening a basic length while securing a stroke length.SOLUTION: A buffer includes a piston 2 for dividing the inside of a cylinder 1 into an extension-side chamber L1 and a pressure-side chamber L2, a first partitioning wall 3 for dividing the inside of a tank 10 disposed outside of the cylinder 1 into an extension-side communication chamber L10 communicating with the extension-side chamber L1 and a pressure-side communication chamber L20 communicating with the pressure-side chamber L2, a first passage R1 for making the extension-side communication chamber L10 communicate with the pressure-side communication chamber L20, a free piston 4 movably inserted into the pressure chamber L4 formed in the tank 10, for dividing the pressure chamber L4 into an extension-side pressure chamber L40 and a pressure-side pressure chamber L41, a spring element 5 generating energizing force for suppressing displacement of the free piston 4 to the pressure chamber L4, an extension-side passage R3 for making the extension-side communication chamber L10 communicate with the extension-side pressure chamber L40, and a pressure-side passage R4 for making the pressure-side communication chamber L20 communicate with the pressure-side pressure chamber L41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
