摘要 The invention provides an aqueous radioprotective pharmaceutical solution composition and a method of preventing, reducing or eliminating the effects of ionizing radiation in a subject who has incurred or is at risk for incurring exposure to ionizing radiation, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an aqueous solution composition comprising between about 20 to about 100 mg/ml of the sodium salt of (E)-4-carboxystyryl-4-chlorobenzylsulfone (ON 01210.Na), at least one cosolvent comprising polyethylene glycol (PEG) in an amount between about 25 and about 90% w/v and at least one stabilizing agent comprising Vitamin E-TPGS, wherein the composition has a pH within the range of about 7.0 to about 9.5. The technical effect is providing a stable formulation of a radioprotective composition that prevents the breakdown of the therapeutically active entity, keeps the drug in the solution at the desired pH and can be used for preventing, reducing or eliminating the effects of ionizing radiation.
