PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the price and improve the strength of a honeycomb structure having a ring-shaped protrusion part.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 10 obtained by bonding a plurality of prismatic honeycomb sintered bodies 40 in which a large number of through-holes are arranged parallel to each other in a longitudinal direction a separately from a partition wall via an adhesive layer 35, wherein the honeycomb structure comprises a ring-shaped protrusion part 15 surrounding over the whole circumference 11 of the honeycomb structure 10 and 30 to 50 vol% of the ring-shaped protrusion part 15 is composed of a filling member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
