PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an air leakage between a lidded plug provided on a package made of a film and the film with high probability by using small-sized chambers. SOLUTION: The lidded plug 11 inserted between folded films 12, 13 and welded thereto is enclosed airtightly by a pair of small-sized chambers 21, 22, and both ends of a boat-shaped pedestal 14 of the plug 11 are pinched by a pair of pinching bodies 29 operated by a fluid cylinder 27 from on the film, and simultaneously air suction from inside the chambers 21, 22 is started through a vacuum line 33. When a pressure drop value in the chambers 21, 22 reaches a set value, a control valve 34 is closed and the chambers 21, 22 are kept in the sealed state, and the pinching action by the pinching bodies 29 is loosened. Resultantly, if the package 10 has a pinhole, the air in the package 10 leaks out instantaneously from the pinhole, to thereby suddenly change the pressure in the chambers 21, 22, and the pressure change is detected by a sensor 39.
