PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the failure of an ultraviolet lamp 21 and a lamp circuit 26. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner wherein a suction port and a blowout port are formed, a heat exchanger and a blower fan are mounted in a casing, the air is sent into a room from the blowout port after exchanging the heat of indoor air sucked from the suction port, a room temperature sensor 51 is mounted between the suction port and the heat exchanger, and the cooling and heating performance is changed in accordance with the temperature difference between a set temperature set by an operating part 63 and a room temperature detected by a room temperature sensor 52 to adjust the room temperature, a photocatalyst filter 21 and the ultraviolet lamp 11 are mounted on a blast passage in the casing, and the ultraviolet lamp 11 is not lit when the room temperature detected by the room temperature sensor 51 is lower than a specific temperature.
