Tool (9) for producing pieces of compound material outside an autoclave, which comprises a stacking table (11); a head (15) that can be moved over said stacking table (11), equipped with automatic means for positioning strips (19) of compound material; means for compacting the compound material and means for emitting microwaves (25) for curing the compound material. The invention also relates to a method for producing pieces of compound material outside an autoclave, which comprises the following steps: a) placing compound material in the form of strips on a tool with the shape of the piece to be produced, compacting it and partially curing it after its positioning until a layer of the piece is complete; b) repeating step a) until the stack of the piece is complete; and c) curing the last layer of the piece to the required curing level.
