The invention relates to a drive assembly (16) with an output pinion (18) for a heat engine starter (10) with a casing (12) provided with a front face (122) and an opening (121, 123) that opens onto the front face (122), of the type including a front bush (26) having (i) a front free end (129) intended to extend outside the casing (12) of the starter (10) and bearing a pinion (18) and (ii) an intermediate segment (128) which has a larger diameter and is intended to pass through the opening (121, 123) in the casing (12). The front free end (129) of the bush (26) has a front tip (200) with a lower hardness. In addition, the front of the pinion (18) has at least one cavity (201) for receiving the material forming the tip (200) at the front free end (129), which is deformed radially in order for the bush (26) to be crimped with the pinion (18). The invention also relates to a heat engine starter characterised in that it includes one such drive assembly. The invention is suitable for the heat engine starter of a motor vehicle. |
