A light redirecting film is provided to increase brightness of the light redirecting film over a wide viewing angle by irregularly bonding adhesive beads on a structured surface on at least one surface of a film. An optical film manufacturing apparatus includes an extruder(101), a patterned roller(105), a stripping roller(111), and a pressure roller(107). The extruder extrudes a material(103). The patterned roller includes surface structures, which form optical structures within an optical layer(113). The pressure roller removes the material from the patterned roller by applying a force between the patterned roller and the stripping roller. A base layer is pressed between the pressure roller and the patterned roller. The material forms the optical layer and is transferred between the patterned roller and the pressure roller.
