PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical device allowing plural kinds of deflectors to be attached to a common optical box without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: A scanning optical device includes: a shaft 121; a deflector 117 composed of a polygon mirror arranged rotatably with regard to the shaft 121; and an optical box 113 having a hole 132 for the shaft 121 to fit in and configured to house the deflector 117. The optical box 113 includes a recess 133 having a larger inner diameter than the hole 132, and the center of the recess 133 is aligned with the center of the hole 132.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
