PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for an optical element for light collection, which is capable of reducing a burden required for the design of the optical element having a shape corresponding to a position on a sensor array.SOLUTION: The design method for the optical element includes: a process for selecting a first optical element 101 in which information on the shape is known and which is arranged in the position close to the center of a pixel array and a second optical element 102 in which the information on the shape is known and which is arranged on the peripheral side of the first optical element 101, respectively; and a process for deciding the information on the shape of a third optical element 103 arranged in the position different from the first optical element 101 and the second optical element 102 by using the information on the shape of the first optical element 101 and the information on the shape of the second optical element 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
