A parking sensor apparatus has a microprocessor and multiple ultrasonic sensors 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d. The microprocessor uses a time division transmitting method to control only one ultrasonic sensor 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d at a time to output an ultrasonic detecting signal. After the one ultrasonic detecting signal has been output, all ultrasonic sensors 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d are controlled to be in a receiving status. The microprocessor receives the reflected detecting signals from the ultrasonic sensors 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d and obtains preset distances Dab, Dbc, Dcd defined between adjacent ultrasonic sensors 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d to calculate the shortest distance D0 between the vehicle 20 and the obstacle 21. Further, since only one ultrasonic sensor 12a, 12b, 12c, 12d outputs the ultrasonic detecting signal at a time, the microprocessor can accurately determine to which outputting ultrasonic sensor 12a, 12b, 12c or 12d the received reflected detecting signal is corresponding to. |
