Liquid chemical dispenser for an irrigation system

The dispenser comprises a removable supply container 34' for the chemical which comprises a membrane 90 which is pierced by a sharpened tip 100 of a dip tube 40 when the container is attached to the dispenser. An enlarged section 98 near the end of the dip tube 40 produces an annular vent passage 92 in the membrane 90 around the dip tube to provide vacuum relief. The configuration of such containers substantially reduces the chance of inadvertent contact with the contents and the simple design permits the containers to be disposable. Dip tube 40 has a threaded connector 104 and seal 102 for ready replacement. A rubber or elastomeric flap check valve may be provided in a vent passage 96. Water flow across the top of the dip tube 40 produces a suction to draw chemical into the water for supplying sprinkler(s).
