A glucose meter (10) for measuring the glucose level in a blood sample of a user comprises a memory for storing at least two measurement results of a glucose level measurement. The glucose meter (10) further comprises a display (12) for providing the user with user instructions. The glucose meter (10) can be operated in an OGTT operation mode. In the operation mode, the user is first instructed to make a first measurement. Subsequently, the measurement results are stored in the memory. Then the user is instructed to take a pre-defined drink of glucose. After a pre-determined period of time, on said display (12), instructions to carry out a second measurement are automatically displayed. The result of the second measurement is stored in the memory of said glucose meter (10).
