PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator which enables a coating liquid to be smoothly discharged from a tip end at initial writing, prevents loosening of the fitting between the tip opening and a coating liquid tank, in stirring the coating liquid and has no possibility of the leakage of the coating liquid. SOLUTION: In the applicator, the tip opening 20, which has an extruding tube 22 and is fitted with a tip 30 rotatably holding a ball-shaped coating body 31, is fitted in the tip end opening of the barrel 10, and the coating liquid tank 40 sealed by a filling plug 42 is accommodated within the barrel, with the tip end opening temporarily stopped by the extruding tube. When the tail end section of the coating liquid tank is pushed in at the initial writing, the engaging projection 11 stopped at a first recessed section 45 is engaged with a second recessed section 46, while the filling plug of the coating liquid tank is retreated by the extruding tube to release the sealing of the tip end opening, enabling the coating liquid to be supplied to the tip ready for coating.
