PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wasteful time and power consumption by eliminating the unnecessary back feed of paper and an absent feed ensuing from it. SOLUTION: In this printer, it is decided whether a margin larger than a specified size is defined at the head part of image data plotted on paper based on printing data to the paper; when the margin is judge to be larger than the specified size, printing operation is started without feeding back the paper. Thus, the back feed of the paper is not performed whenever it is unnecessary because the printing data to the head part of the paper is set as the margin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
