A target pressure at an FC inlet is set to an initial value (step 1) and the target pressure at the FC inlet is maintained at this initially set value until the concentration of impurities contained in a gas supplied to the anode of a fuel cell becomes a predetermined value or below (step 3: No). This initial value is set higher than the target pressure at the FC inlet which is set in accordance with an FC current during normal generation. When the concentration of impurities in the gas supplied to the anode of the fuel cell (10) has become the predetermined value or below (step S3: Yes), the target pressure at the FC inlet is obtained by using a map expressing the relationship between the FC current detected at step S5 and the target pressure at the FC inlet which is set in accordance with a request output to the fuel cell (10) (step S7). |
