INTERPOLATION METHOD FOR A MOTION COMPENSATED IMAGE AND DEVICE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID METHOD

An interpolation method for a motion-compensated image and a device for implementing the method are provided to remove a visual defect in an image region which disappears or appears between two successive source images. A motion vector is evaluated to interpolate each pixel of an image(100). The size of the evaluated motion vector is determined(110). An interpolation pattern for interpolating each pixel of the image is selected according to the size of the evaluated motion vector(120). An interpolated image is generated by using the selected interpolation pattern for each pixel of the image(130).
