A rigid element(20) forms a connection between the outer(11) and inner(12) sections of the front column(10) and is fastened to a reinforcing element(14) by the fastening elements(6,7,15) for the door hinge(4). The rigid connecting element may be a bush installed vertically in relation to the outer section of the column and fastened to the inner section of the column by a threaded element(23) or by rivets. An inner wall of the wheel housing of the left or right hand front wheel serves as the inner section of the front column.
