PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect approach of a user to an image processing apparatus surely while reducing cost in an image processing apparatus.SOLUTION: An MFP 100 detects intrusion of a portable terminal 200 into detection areas A1, A2, A3, respectively. Based on the detection results, a travel time (travel time (1)) from the outer edge of the detection area A1 to the outer edge of the detection area A2, and a travel time (travel time (2)) from the outer edge of the detection area A2 to the outer edge of the detection area A3 are measured for the portable terminal 200. Based on these two travel times, the MFP 100 determines whether or not the direction of travel of the portable terminal 200 is toward the MFP 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
