PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce striking sound (rattling sound) between a rack shaft and a rack housing, with structure of low running cost.SOLUTION: A rack guide mechanism 20 which presses a rack shaft 8 to a pinion shaft 5 connected to a steering shaft 2 is provided at one side of a rack housing 7 for housing the rack shaft 8, and a rack shaft supporting mechanism 21 which supports other end portion of the rack shaft 8 is provided at other end portion of the rack housing 7. The rack shaft supporting mechanism 21 includes a rack shaft holding member 26 which holds the rack shaft 8 reciprocatably and slidably, a rack shaft guide 22 which supports the rack shaft 8 reciprocatably and slidably at the side facing the rack shaft holding member 26 across the rack shaft 8, an adjuster spring 24 which presses the rack shaft guide 22 to the direction of the rack shaft 8, and an adjuster plug 23 which adjusts spring pressure of the adjuster spring 24. |
