PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a power consumption and enable steam generation to be restrained as less as possible by controlling cleaning at a not-boiling temperature. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker is provided with a cleaning mode comprising housing a specified amount of water inside an inner pot and heating the inner pot or the like to clean the same. At a selection of the cleaning mode, the water housed inside the inner pot is heated up to a specified temperature higher than a reserving temperature but lower than a boiling temperature and after that, retained at a first specified temperature lower than the specified temperature in a specified time. In a first temperature-retaining process after a temperature-raising process, exposing components inside a cooker main body including the inner pot to a higher temperature enables odors generated and adhering to the components through the rice cooking repeatedly conducted to be greatly decreased, saving the power consumption and restraining the steam generation as less as possible.
