Disclosed is a photoelectric conversion device wherein a thin film of oxide semiconductor particles formed on a substrate is loaded and sensitized with a methine dye represented by the following formula (1). (1) (In the formula, n represents an integer of 0-7; X and Y respectively represent a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted aromatic residue, an optionally substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon residue or the like, and X and Y may combine together to form an optionally substituted ring; A1, A2 and A3 independently represent an optionally substituted aromatic residue, an optionally substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon residue or the like, and when n is not 0, two or more of A1 and/or A2 and/or A3 may combine together to form an optionally substituted ring; and the benzene ring a may have a halogen atom, an amide group, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group or the like as a substituent.) This photoelectric conversion device can be produced at low cost while having high conversion efficiency.
