<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact communication medium capable of protecting card information from illegal access. <P>SOLUTION: This non-contact communication medium (IC card) C1 wherein an antenna coil 1 for non-contact communication and an IC chip 2 including a storage element recording information are incorporated in an armoring body includes a changeover switch 9 capable of selecting a function permitting the communication of the information through the antenna coil 1 and a function prohibiting the communication of the information through the antenna coil 1 by operation from the outside. In time of nonuse, the function prohibiting the communication of the information through the antenna coil 1 is selected by the changeover switch 9 to protect the storage information from the illegal access.
