According to the present invention, a rotor 1 of a rotary electrical machine is provided with: a cylindrical core 3; a plurality of permanent magnets 4 which are attached to the outer circumferential surface of the core 3, and which are spaced from one another in the circumferential direction of the core 3; a plurality of members 5 which are attached to the outer circumferential surface of the core 3, and which fill gaps between the permanent magnets 4 circumferentially adjacent to one another; a film 7 which is formed by thermal spraying of a non-magnetic material and which coats the outer circumferential surface of each of the plurality of permanent magnets 4 therewith; and a cylindrical strengthening member 9 which is arranged on the outer circumferential surfaces of the plurality of members 5 and the films 7 and which covers the outer circumferential surfaces of the plurality of members 5 and the films 7.
