The vehicle body (1) comprises a rear side arranged reinforced frame (2), on which a tailgate is attached. The reinforced frame is formed as an open frame. A roof cross beam (8) is provided for supporting a vehicle roof. The profile cross-section of the pillar structures (3,4) merge largely variable in the profile cross-section of the roof cross beam.
