<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element comprising a restrained asymmetrical diffuser. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element having an optical film is provided. The optical element includes a support frame which has a shaft therein and is provided around a periphery of the optical element. The optical film has a plurality of slots at its periphery and its periphery is provided on the support frame. Further provided are a pin, which is provided in each slot and protrudes in the support frame and is slidable on the shaft by controlled tensile force; and a spring mechanism, which is slidable on the shaft for providing controlled tensile force to the optical film.
