<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the occurrence of a disclination line in a pixel electrode and thereby, capable of giving display with high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 50 has a comb-like pixel electrode 51 comprising a plurality of comb-teeth electrodes 51a arranged in one direction and has a reflective display section 1r and a transmissive display section 1t for each pixel 1a, wherein the pixel electrode 51 is formed such that the width Wr of the reflective display section 1r is larger than the width Wt of the transmissive display section 1t in a direction x perpendicular to the direction of arrangement of the reflective display section 1r and the transmissive display section 1t. The plurality of comb-teeth electrodes 51a are coupled only at an end part. The comb-teeth electrodes 51a are extended in the arrangement direction of the reflective display section 1r and the transmissive display section 1t, and the number of electrodes in the reflective display section 1r is larger than the number of electrodes in the transmissive display section 1t. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
