PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for use in processing formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples for molecular biology studies, and specifically, to provide a system and method that can easily remove paraffin wax from the tissue and proceed to de-crosslink the macromolecules, thus rendering the tissue sample in a condition compatible with typical aqueous based sample preparation, purification and nucleic acid amplification.SOLUTION: The invention provides a liquid-liquid extraction system that is compatible with standard testing materials and testing methods. It is also compatible with many established automation procedures used to perform nucleic acid extraction.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
